The original release of the Sigelei SnowWolf MFeng mod was received with a ton of praise. Recently, SnowWolf updated the MFeng by way of the SnowWolf MFeng UX 200W TC Box Mod. With the SnowWolf chipset slightly updated and the 3D wolf head removed from the back panel I’m curious to see if this new version is the better one. This should be perfect to pair with the powerful SnowWolf Wolf Tank if it’s as good as it should be.
The Design of the SnowWolf MFeng UX 200W TC Box Mod
Aside from a few changes, the SnowWolf MFeng UX 200W TC Box Mod does resemble the original MFeng mod quite a bit. The biggest changes you’ll see on the chassis are going to be the flat back panel. The first MFeng had a 3D wolf head that a lot of people complained about—while others admired. This has been changed out for a graphic wolf design that looks a lot cleaner and doesn’t interfere with the weight, shape, or comfortability of the mod. They’ve also placed a textured metal faceplate around the display screen that looks pretty classy.
The color options all look very sleek and sophisticated. You can find the mod in a black and gold, chrome blue, chrome red, pearl white and gold, and a space blue.
You can usually trust the construction of a SnowWolf device. I haven’t experienced anything cheap or janky with them. This looks like a quality box mod, but it feels even better. The chassis is made of zinc alloy, while the 510 connection is stainless steel and gold-plated. The buttons all feel nice and clicky and very responsive.
The front face of the mod has the 1.3-in display screen, two adjustment buttons below, and on the bottom the micro-USB port. The firing button, however, is located on the side of the mod. It’s very, very large, but looks impressive, even with the SnowWolf logo on the surface.
The SnowWolf Chipset
This chipset already has a good reputation. But with this new update, I noticed a faster firing time and more responsiveness overall. Of course, it comes with multiple safety protections. But the main difference I see here is the new child lock/user lock mode. You can input a code to keep your mod locked from other potential users or children.
To access the menu, hold both adjustment buttons and then scroll through to find your vaping mode. The SnowWolf MFeng UX 200W TC Box Mod has a TC suite that allows for Ni, Ti, and SS 304, 3016, and 317 materials. There is also a TCR with memory slots, a preheat setting, and standard power.
Vaping With the SnowWolf MFeng UX 200W TC Box Mod
I used this with the Wotofo Flow Pro Sub-Ohm Tank as well as the SMOK TFV8 Baby V2 Tank to see how it coped with different wattages. At 40-60W, the MFeng UX delivered exactly what I expected: a lovely vape with no sputters, misfires, or quirks. It fires up very quickly. So much so, that you almost need to be sure you lock the device since the fire button is large. It’s very easy to fire this mod by accident. With the SMOK tank, I took it all the way up to 120W. Still, no issues in standard power mode.
The TC and TCR functionality worked well for me with the GeekVape Loop RDA. Adjusting the temperature and settings gave me no issues. The menu is fairly easy to navigate through. I also tested the preheat in both TC and Power mode and was pleased with that function as well.
While I wouldn’t suggest running out and purchasing one of these if you already own the original MFeng mod and have no issues with it, Sigelei made some needed changes. The changes weren’t enormous, but the updated chipset fires quicker and makes for a nice touch. The lock setting is a good feature, especially if you’re worried about children getting ahold of your mod. However, I can’t see that many vapers would be too worried about other adults grabbing their mod and trying to use it while you weren’t looking. Who knows! Nonetheless, the digit lock is useful.
I didn’t experience any issues with the MFeng UX and I do think the improvements made were worth it. The outcome is a powerful, trusted mod from SnowWolf with a slightly more mature appearance. If you’re a fan of SnowWolf mods, you’ll be a fan of this one. And even if you aren’t, you might want to introduce yourself with the UX.
