Sigele01
 good or bad soupwire emblem

Sigelei has been around since 2011. You may know them for the Sigelei Fuchai mods (like the Sigelei Fuchai R7 230W starter kit) or the Sigelei KAOS Spectrum mod. The brand typically keeps up with industry standards and puts out some competitive options for vapers. The Sigelei Moonshot 120 Sub-Ohm tank was initially only available as a part of the Sigelei Sobra Kit. But now, the Moonshot 120 is available for separate purchase. It’s a solid tank, not the best of the best, but makes a great starter tank or spare to have around.

The Build of the Sigelei Moonshot 120 Sub-Ohm Tank

The Moonshot 120 tank is constructed out of SS303, a combination of metal and plating material. The tank comes with a 5.5ml bubble glass, as well as a spare 2ml straight glass. Something a bit unique about this tank is the top cap. The drip tip is not removable, as it is integrated into the entire top cap. You must remove the top cap to access the top fill system. It unscrews easily, so it isn’t inconvenient unless you prefer a sliding top fill design.

There are two airflow slots, which are a decent size, but sort of small compared to some of the other tanks on the market right now. If you’re looking for big clouds from this tank, the smaller airflow will be a negative factor.

Design-wise, it’s a nice looking tank, available in stainless steel, black, gold, gunmetal, and a rainbow color when sold separately from the kit. If you like a simplistic, sharp design then you’ll like the way the Moonshot 120 looks.

The Sigelei MS Coils

The Sigelei Moonshot uses the MS coil series with organic cotton. Included in this purchase is the MS-H coil, but you can also buy the Sigelei MS coils.

The MS-H Coil

The MS-H coil is a 0.2-ohm coil head, which is great at wattages around 60-120W. This will be your best bet for cloud chasing with this tank. However, it should be noted that this is not the tank if you’re really focused on creating enormous clouds. The cloud production is average to above, but nothing mind-blowing. The flavor on the MS-H coil is a bit more muted than some would prefer, but still satisfies.

The MS Coil

I purchased an MS coil pack to give them a test as well. The MS coil is a 0.25-ohm coil best at 40-80W. If you prefer bolder flavor and are less focused on clouds, you will prefer this coil.

Both of the coils perform well, although there are no mesh coil options with the Sigelei Moonshot, so if you’re all about that mesh, you might be disappointed. The lifespan of the MS coils are good, lasting anywhere from a week to two weeks per coil, depending on how much you vape.

Vaping with the Sigelei Moonshot 120 Sub-Ohm Tank

Vaping with this tank is a good flavor experience. You’ll get some pretty pure flavor profiles, especially with the MS coil head. It still doesn’t compare to the flavor quality you’ll get with mesh coils, but that should go without saying.

The MS coil performs a bit better than the MS-H coil, but only slightly. These are solid coils that do what they promise to do. There isn’t much noise when vaping this tank either, which is a plus.

I tried this tank on a few different mods and noticed no significant difference in performance.

Conclusion? A Nice Little Starter or Spare Tank

Needless to say, with the multitude of choices vapers have out there it’s tough to choose what tank to buy. The Sigelei Moonshot 120 Sub-Ohm tank doesn’t knock it out of the park, but it’s a great tank to have if you’re looking for a nice quality starter or like to have some spare tanks on hand. The flavor performance from the Moonshot is really nice, despite the fact that most of us are getting used to mesh coil options. I don’t have anything bad to say about this tank, except for the lack of coil options available.
