Recently, we reviewed the VooPoo UForce T1 tank. Although the tank is a nice little addition as a spare, it’s not the top tank out there. However, VooPoo has made some waves in the short amount of time the company has been manufacturing vaping gear. If you aren’t a stickler for the latest and greatest, VooPoo has a great box mod from 2017 that is, in my opinion, still a viable option for those of you searching for your next mod. The VooPoo Drag 157W TC Box Mod is a great piece of equipment to have on hand. Here’s why.
First of All, It’s Reliable
Most of us don’t want to have to replace our mods right away. But we get it, things happen. Sometimes you break it, short it out, and sometimes, let’s be honest, you purchase a dud. The VooPoo Drag 157W TC Box Mod is a mod that, through my experience, as well as some other reviewers, keeps going as long as you take good care of it. One reason the VooPoo Drag is a good mod is the solid build. This is truly a mod that you can drop a couple of times, without everything falling apart. In the design department, the VooPoo Drag has an industrial appeal. The look of the device is nice and streamlined, with a swirled resin inlay or carbon inlay and solid metal finishes.
The GENE Chipset is Pretty Darn Solid
The VooPoo Drag’s chipset, GENE, is ultra-responsive. I mean, this thing fires up quick. Some mods have a little delay, which isn’t a big deal, but it can get tedious. With the VooPoo Drag’s 0.05 second firing response time, you won’t notice a lag at all. The GENE chip basically does everything that the OMNI chipset does. The OMNI chip is used in some of Vaporesso’s mods, like the Revenger X 220W mod.
Basically, with the GENE, you’re going to get multiple vaping modes such as Smart Mode, a curved wattage mode, and a curved temperature mode. You’ll get all of your standard modes such as TC, TCR, and Power mode as well. The options available to you with the GENE chipset really make the VooPoo Drag worth vaping. Since the Drag is a 157W max output, the TC mode might not compare to some other current mods on the market, but this isn’t a big deal unless you’re strictly a TC vaper.
And of course, lest we forget, the GENE offers amazing safety features that are comparable to most new mods on the market.
The VooPoo Drag 157W TC Box Mod Works Well for Beginning and Intermediate Vapers
Although there are some advanced functions, don’t shy away from the VooPoo Drag. This mod does well for everyday use, and it’s pretty easy to navigate through the menus. Most vapers could pick up the VooPoo Drag and figure out how to use the basic functions in no time.
Who The VooPoo Drag 157W is a Good Match For
If you’re looking for a sturdy, reliable mod that doesn’t cost much, get the VooPoo Drag. The GENE chipset makes it worth your while, even if you only vape on standard Power mode. The firing time is super fast, it’s easy to learn how to use the VooPoo, and the only real complaint I’ve ever heard about the mod is the bulkiness or the TC mode failing over about 80W. If you don’t want a heavy mod, you might want to shy away from the VooPoo Drag. Nonetheless, the weight isn’t a huge deal for most people. At around $50, the Drag gives you a lot of bang for your buck.
