Kanthal mesh is being used in a ton of coils now. If you haven’t tried one of these mesh coils, then you’re probably going to want to. It’s a game-changer in terms of flavor consistency and quality, and it really does make for a lovely vaping experience. Not all products and coils are equal, but most of the mesh coils I’ve tried are about the same level of performance, give or take. However, quality is always worth considering when you’re looking for a tank that offers mesh coils. The Freemax FireLuke Mesh tank was one of the first tanks to offer Kanthal Mesh coils — and an underrated one.

The Stunning Design of the Freemax FireLuke Mesh Tank

First and foremost, if you’re looking for a good quality tank that’s an absolute stunner, look no further than the FireLuke. It’s sold in three different styles: Steel, Resin, and Carbon Fiber, all of which are available in a multitude of color combos. The best of the three design styles is arguably the steel, due to the knurled pattern, which also coordinates with the drip tip. The resin design offers a swirled look that’s also quite attractive. With a coil installed, it really does look rad. You’ll see a knurled mesh on the outside of the coil that corresponds especially well with the knurling of the steel versions.

How Does the Freemax FireLuke Mesh Tank Vape?

The Freemax FireLuke Mesh tank’s airflow allows for a fantastic Direct Lung vaping experience, but if you like to switch it up and do some Mouth-to-Lung vaping, you can close the airflow and easily attain that style too.

The first release of the FireLuke tank only offered one coil option: the 0.15-ohm Kanthal Mesh coil with organic cotton. Vaping with the 0.15-ohm coils, you will experience unprecedented flavor quality. The clouds aren’t too bad either, judging from the amount of cotton used in the FireLuke coils. The 0.15-ohm coils are best anywhere from 40-90W. The FireLuke delivers a lot of flavor around 60-70W, but keep in mind it’ll vary with different e-liquids. I’ve used mine consistently at 60 and 65W, with my Joyetech ESPION Infinite mod and can’t believe how pure the flavor is with these mesh coils.

Since the initial release of the Freemax FireLuke, they have offered a second type of coil (not included when you purchase the FireLuke), the 0.12-ohm SS316L. These mesh coils offer a larger surface area and do support higher wattage vaping. In fact, these guys are rated at up to 400 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. These coils are great at 60W and upward, but most notably these work well with TC vaping.

Some Cons to Consider

There truly aren’t many cons with the Freemax FireLuke — and none of them are deal breakers. The main problem is the 3ml capacity. If you aren’t a fan of continually refilling your tank, then the FireLuke can get a bit annoying. They do have a bubble glass available that ups the capacity to 5ml, but that still doesn’t compete with tanks that offer a 7-8ml bubble glass.

You also have to consider that the mesh coils need breaking in. That means that you must prime them, let them sit for 10 minutes or longer, and then start to break-in the coil at lower wattage increments until the flavor starts to come through. But again, no big deal really. Most coils require some time to get saturated, but Kanthal Mesh coils require a bit more patience if you want to get the most life out of them.

The lack of various coil options is a bit limiting, but since the FireLuke coils are such hard-hitters in terms of performance, it doesn’t feel like a bother. Still, if you’re a fan of options and varying the types of coils that you use, you might find yourself feeling boxed in with the two coil options.

At any rate, the Freemax FireLuke Mesh tank’s performance alone should make you think about getting your hands on one of these.
