good or bad soupwire emblem

Slightly salty baked pumpkin spice cookie, layered with a thin cream cheese icing. October Sky from Om Vapors is another flavor for the record books!

First Impressions:

The branding used by Om Vapors is really quite nice. They use the same general graphic design on all their e-liquid lines, with some minor variations, that works to keep everything consistent throughout. Everything from the large white Om logo, to e-juice names and the colorful background images work to give their bottles a bit of character. You won’t find any cartoon characters or vulgar wording here, and they’re definitely not needed! This just goes to show that a little extra work put in on label design can pay off in a big way.

Flavor Profile:

Warm chewy pumpkin spice cookie topped with a lightly sweetened whipped cream cheese icing, it doesn’t get much better than that!

Homemade sugar cookie dough (far from the packaged variety) with floral notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Mixed in with the cookie aroma is a raw full fat unsweetened cream cheese, with a pinch touch of salt.

My Setup:

The Drop Dead RDA from Hellvape loaded with a single framed staple from Saddlehorseblues, sitting on top of the Sobra mod from Sigelei. Airflow shutdown half way and a wattage set between 50-60 for this review.

Now I know the Drop Dead is not ‘meant for single coil’. Call me crazy, but I’ve had a single framed staple on deck for about a month now, and have managed to produce some great flavor with it. And you know what they say… ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!’

Front – October Sky starts with an emphasis on the sugar cookie. Cinnamon is the most prominent spice with a mix of allspice and nutmeg not far behind. Smooth, lightly sweetened cream cheese serves to even the spice notes out a bit – not entirely, but just enough to allow for more of a dessert taste.

Middle – A strong sugar cookie base that’s sufficiently spiced, comparable to a gingersnap or baked anise as far potency is concerned. The cinnamon and nutmeg are by no means overpowering the liquid, but are pushing the limit. The tangy characteristic of the cream cheese icing receives an additional kick and an extra pinch of white sugar, that really adds to the complexity of October Sky.

End – Strong soft baked pumpkin spice cookie is the name of the game, up until the very end. There’s a cream cheese icing, but it’s not overly sweet or potent like I expected it to be. Very low sugar content for a dessert style e-liquid.

Aftertaste – Clean! There’s A LOT of spice working here, but it never becomes overpowering. Add a cream cheese into mix, and October Sky could’ve easily fell off the deep end. Thankfully Om Vapors managed to keep everything in line, including the aftertaste!

Cloud Production:

Om Vapors uses a 75/25 blend on all their liquids, and to be honest, I actually prefer it over the Industry standard 70/30.

Final Thoughts:

Personally, I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more ‘cheese’ in the icing – the spiced sugar cookie in definitely strong enough to support it. With that being said, there’s not a whole lot I’d change about this one!

Recommendable? Maybe. Anyone who likes a spiced e-juice would be hard pressed not to at least try this one. But the potency may be a bit much for some.

ADV? If I could talk Om Vapors into boosting the cream cheese flavor, then yes.
