JUUL Labs is giving smokers a choice.

A significant one.

Targeting adult smokers, Juul unveiled low nicotine pods recently, providing more options for traditional cigarette smokers, according to a press release.

The company said it plans to produce the three percent pods to offer smokers, who want to quit combustible cigarettes, alternate nicotine levels to help their transition.

JUUL plans to expand the pods’ availability on a limited basis nationally during August and have them “widely available” during October in Mint and Virginia Tobacco flavors. The three percent pods, by weight, are a 40 percent reduction from its five percent offerings, the release said.

Juul unveiled low nicotine pods to give smokers a different path to quitting nicotine cigarettes.

“JUUL has enabled more than one million adult smokers to replace cigarettes, and we want to continue to offer meaningful options to adult smokers who want to end their relationship with combustible cigarettes,” JUUL Labs CEO Kevin Burns said. “JUUL Labs wants to meet the needs and preferences of adult smokers who are on their journey to switching from cigarettes, and we hope the availability of different nicotine strengths will continue to allow adult smokers the ability to explore what is best for them.”

JUUL, which claims to have about one million customers, announced last week it decided to make the moves after receiving positive results from a survey staged by the Center for Substance Use Research. The results indicated JUUL significantly impacted the market and its use aided smokers in their attempts to cut down or stop lighting up altogether, according to the release.
