JUUL Labs is facing a barrage of lawsuits and criticism from all flanks.

The fastest-growing vaping company in the U.S. is not backing down as its world conquest continues.

JUUL’s next target is Switzerland, beginning with a launch in Zug, according to swissinfo.ch.

Zug is an ancient settlement now populated by more than 29,000 citizens. It’s perhaps best known as a low tax region and hosts a series of multinational business headquarters.

Not long after JUUL announced earlier this year it planned to invest approximately $1.2 million to expand its footprint internationally, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) took up arms.

JUUL’s San Francisco-based headquarters was raided by federal officials in October, leading to nearly a thousand documents being seized. The FDA said the action “sought further documentation related to JUUL’s sales and marketing practices, among other things.”

In September, the FDA issued 60-day warning letters to JUUL, which controls nearly 70 percent of the domestic vaping market, as well as other competitors to create credible marketing plans to keep their products out of the hands of minors. If they fail in what the agency called “the largest coordinated enforcement effort in the FDA’s history,” their devices could be banned from retailers and face charges.

JUUL also is facing at least three lawsuits over the potential addictive-nature of their products and marketing practices. The startup, which is valued at more than $15 billion, will not be detoured by domestic distractions.

JUUL also announced plans in September to expand to Canada.

Switzerland is the next step.

Managed by the law firm Jacob Bollag, subsidiary JUUL Labs Switzerland was listed on the nation’s commercial register as a distributor or exporter, producer for the retail and wholesale trade of electronic cigarettes and accessories.

The fast-rising company is engaged in a series of battles along the home front but continues to invade foreign lands.

JUUL hopes to avert a World War — and JUUL Labs Switzerland may be the place to do that.
