RDAs can be rather intimidating, especially for those new to vaping. YouTube personality Grimm Green and coil maker OhmBoyOC may have just changed the game – The Goat RDA has a few tricks up its sleeve.
New vapers looking for a device to get started normally skip over rebuildables altogether, and for good reason. Often, they can be a challenge to set up, and contain a bunch of awkward parts. And if you’re not comfortable with coil installations, rebuilding is just not an option.
Sub-Ohm tanks have made tanks super approachable, even to those just starting out. Their screw in style coil heads open the doors for vapers of all skill levels. Up until recently, if vapers wanted to experience the amazing vape quality of an RDA, they were simply out of luck.
But that has since changed with the GOAT RDA. Grimm Green and OhmBoyOC, two of the most influential individuals in the vape Industry, integrated a ‘Sub-ohm style’ replaceable coil head system into the confines of an RDA. What ensued was a dripper that could be used by anyone, including beginners.

The GOAT RDA has all the key features that make an RDA great. The use of stainless steel throughout the RDA offer a high level of durability, and reduce possible damage from most drops.
The replaceable coil heads, or goatheads as they’ve been tagged, come in two different types: a .13ohm dual deck using 22G anarchist wire, and a .19ohm dual coil using 24G. They retail for $15, and should last for a month or so with proper cleaning. Each coil deck can be screwed/unscrewed in a mater of seconds, reducing time in-between vapes.
The GOAT comes with a bottom feed pin for anyone using a squonk style device, and e-juice can be dripped through the huge 8mm 810 drip tip for anyone using a standard box mod. It’s 5mm deep juice well isn’t the deepest thing we’ve ever seen, but should still be sufficient in the long run.
As it stands right now, there are only two types of coils available for purchase. But having followed Grimm Green and OhmBoyOC myself for quite sometime, I’d be willing to bet they have more coil varieties for the goatheads just waiting to be released. Imagine the GOAT with a 3mm fused clapton or 2.5mm alien deck, now that’s exciting.
Alright, so let’s be honest. The GOAT is far from flawless – for starters, its cyclops style airflow slots aligned with build deck are going to cause leaking issues for those unable to control their ‘squonks’. And the lack of coil offerings mean that the GOAT is definitely not going to bring top-notch flavor to the table. But for a measly $40 a pop, we think it this one is definitely worth it!
