I was a bit skeptical when I first heard about the Geekvape Loop V1.5. Up until a month ago (give or take), I had no idea the Loop RDA even existed. I was familiar with Geekvape from their popular Aegis mod, and had heard great things about their 25mm Ammit RTA. After viewing the Loop V1.5, I had to see what it was all about.

Breakdown

The Loop V1.5 really surprised me in more ways than one. I had some reservations about the unique press fit airflow ring going around the sleeve; I figured there was no way that it would work as good as it looked. The airflow control turned out to be one of my favorite features of the RDA; it was neither too tight, nor too lose — it stayed exactly where I wanted it to stay, never gave me issues with leaking, and looked really cool.

From afar, the RDA looks rather simple. It’s only when you take a closer look that you start to respect its design. It has some nice laser etching cut into to lower and upper portions of the top cap, which gives the Loop some character, while maintaining a very smooth feel. The upper portion of the RDA is raised and sloped ever so slightly, providing a ‘special resting place’ for the drip tip and almost separating it from the rest of the unit.

The tolerances on the V1.5 are spot on as well, I never had an issue with removing the cap, or snapping it back on. And even though though there’s no o-ring to secure the drip tip, which can be an issue sometimes, it fits snug but is easy to remove with a little twist and wiggle. It’s the attention to the little details like this that take the Loop to another level entirely.

Building on the topper did take some getting used to, but was an absolute breeze after the initial learning curve. With the exception of the flat head screws, there’s not a single thing I would’ve changed about the deck post positioning. It’s 24mm size really helps with the larger more complex coil installs as well, and makes easy work of a 3mm dual coil build.

Positives:

  • Feels good in the hand
  • No sharp edges
  • Cool design, laser etching
  • Clean logo
  • Ridiculously smooth airflow control
  • Press fit airflow ring
  • Smooth draw
  • Perfect tolerances
  • Comfortable drip tip/s
  • Super easy to drip
  • 1 piece top cap design
  • Crazy cloud production
  • Really good flavor product, especially with the airflow dialed down
  • Love the included drip tips
  • Complex coil art support
  • Included squonk pin

Negatives:

  • Building on the deck will take some getting used to
  • Gets a bit warm after repeated back to back pulls
  • Flat head screws are a bit ‘grabby’

Wrap Up

My favorite thing about the Loop V1.5? The one piece top cap design, you don’t realize how much better this is until you start using RDAs with a removable AFC ring. Geekvape got around this by integrating the airflow control into the middle of the Loop, and it really made this RDA. Overall, the V1.5 was an absolute pleasure to use; I enjoyed dripping with it so much that I never felt the need to install the 510 pin for bottom feeding.

This RDA may just be my favorite topper of the year! I would recommend it to anyone, and for the price – under $30 – it’s hard to beat. If you’ve been having some mixed feeling about the Geekvape Loop V1.5, I’d highly suggest going for it, you won’t be let down!
